Prize giving was an awesome day. I never thought I was going to get an award. Out of all of the awards I got 3^rd in academic. My heart was beating so fast I didn't know what to do. Our performance was amazing I just don't know what more to say. We done a dance called the dougie It's when you put your arms out front and lean side to side.

We all had an awesome day.

Rugby

One of the sports New Zealand is known for is rugby. Our rugby boys were East Auckland champs so because of that we had to move on to the Auckland Tournament. We were all confident at trying our best.

We arrived a bit late, seeing all the other schools and their boys. They looked massive and I couldn't resist looking at them. I bet they thought I had an eye problem. So there were two pools a and b and we got put in the b pool. The teams that we were against was Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate and finlayson Intermediate.

It was kick off time My position was lock, nerves were building. Luckily the ball went to the opposite way from were I was standing. Forming a ruck is quit a hard thing to do Its like building a bridge over who’s ever on the ground. Sadly we lost that game, and we came third over all.

We were one of the smallest teams there but we still stayed humble.

Planets

Wow!! Is that really how big the planets a compered to earth. Its funny to see how other planets don’t knock into each other. Mrs langitupu was giving us a demonstration on how the planets are lined up and how they can orbit around the sun.

So we headed outside to full balloons up with water. The balloons were meant to react as planets. Sadly it just started pouring down with rain, so that plan didn’t work we went back in side and decided to blow up the balloons,only 9 people had to blow them. The order of planets from the sun a Mercury,Venus,Earth,Mars,Jupiter,Saturn,Uranus,Neptune,Pluto.

The sun is bang on in the middle of the solar system. Did you know that there a stars bigger than the sun and they are located below the milky way. It takes a year for the earth to fully orbit around the sun. All planets orbit anti clock wise. Also another word to call a planet is an orb. Neptune is named after the roman god of the sea. Neptune is mostly filled with water. Earth only has one moon a no rings.

My favorite planet is Pluto because sadly A few years ago it was named a dwarf planet. It is about 2 to 3 thousand km. Its the furthest from the sun and its in the outer core. After one day of learning about planets I am happy with the out come.

I actally found out allot of interesting things.

Wow! Is their really bigger stars then the sun. I wonder why I haven't heard of them since today? That’s really weird. It is shocking to see the size of them, they are located below the milky way. I wounder how the stars were formed?. The largest planet is Jupiter. It is followed by Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Earth, Venus, Mars, Mercury, and finally, tiny Pluto. The brightest star out of all of them is Sirius.

Silly sports

Squishy, muddy, sweaty, screaming. Those were my thoughts from yesterday. Silly sports! Who would of thought of that?

There were 4 sports that we could do. Each class was given 1 activity to do. We would play thats sport and when we had finished that sport, we would rotate on to the next one. Our first sport was with our own lovely teacher Mrs Lagitupu.

When we were with Mrs Lagitupu, she split us up into 4 teams. One team got a ball and the aim of the game was to try and tag a person with the ball without running with it. In this game you needed to be able to catch and communicate very well with your team mates.

Another 1 of the 4 activities we did were with Mrs Nua. Her game was a bit of a classic squeezing sponge, muddy puddles, laughing and co-operating sort of game. It was the right game for this kind of day because it was so hot !

The best of them all though was Mr Harris’s 3 legged raced !Trying to walk with my leg tied to my friend while balancing a tennis ball on a spoon. It was so much fun ! The best way I could think of winning was chanting the old rhythm, “left right left.” Luckily for my partner and I, we won !! Now we’re in the finals.

It was a very enjoyable fun and also a great experience. I was happy to see everybody laughing. What an epic day!

Life caravan

During term 3 we have had three sessions so far,Lyn was our teacher through out these sessions. What we were learning about was puberty and things that evolve around that. I have enjoyed learning about bad things that people put into there body's and the dangers around New Zealand on drugs.

Cross country

A 3.5 km run I thought to myself. Am I really prepared to do this? It was one day before our annual school cross country event when the teacher came in to show us the map that showed where we were going to be running. I hadn't run in a long time so this was time to test my fitness levels.

I was waiting with the Year 8 boys sitting down, wondering if we should jog or not. I thought about jogging but that would've taken quite a long time to catch up to whoever was in the front. On the track there was mud, rocks, puddles and steps.

I was half way through the track huffing and puffing, my lungs were exhausted. I thought my legs were going to break. Tanielu and I were going at the same paste until I just could'nt take it so I had to walk.

Wow I was very surprised I came 9th overall ! Wow I was very surprised

Kung fu part 2

In the holidays my family and I went to Sylvia Park to watch Kung Fu Panda 2. We were meant to go and watch Cars 2 but sadly it was sold out. The movie was going to start in 30 minutes. In that time we went to the grocery store to buy treats because it is cheaper.

Finally we had got all the treats and headed back to the cinema. I was looking forward to seeing what kind of adventure Pou (panda) was going to have. Jack black is a very entertaining actor and also really funny. Kung Fu Panda part 1 was kind of funny but this one looked hilarious.

The main character (Pou) was searching for inner peace. He was trying to search for his parents. When he was a baby he was abandoned and brought up by Mr Ping (goose). He discovered that his parents were attacked and killed when he was a baby.

My favorite part of the movie was when he fought against lord Shen who was trying to take over china. I thought lord Shen was going to win easily because Pou is such a clumsy panda, but maybe I thought wrong,massivie firey mateal balls were getting shot at Pou. What he done was found inner peace and slowley swifted the balls back at all Mr shen army.

Over all I thought this movie was really funny. My vote was probably 9 out of 10 stars.

Term 2 Highlights

Term 2 has been a roller coaster experience fulled with loads of highlights. This terms topic was bigger,better,stronger and faster. So far we have learnt lots about famous inventors like Albert Einstein .

I really enjoyed Taoga time with Mrs Nua our topic was based on japan. Another cool thing about term 2 was sport, our 15 man rugby team took out the Eastern rugby tournament tomorrow we a going to the Auckland champs I can tell that it’s going to be a big competition.

The highlight that I liked out of all was the “I am making movie 2” competition our school entered 2 movies and we both were finalist. Sadly we just got nominated but did’nt win our girls won best creative movie and supreme winner.

Term 2 has been an awesome journey now i need new goals. I'm looking forward to term 3 and what new things we a going to learn.

Tech at tamaki

It was Monday morning, and our last day of tech. I got to school and saw everybody lined up and ready to walk over to Tamaki College.

We leave school at 8:30am every Monday and arrive there at 9 from then we get split up into our 5 groups. Our teacher is called Mr Malhotra, he is an awesome teacher and funny. He takes electronics and this term we were in his class. I had finished my project a few weeks ago so this week I just needed to create a poster that showed the dangers of electricity. There are different kinds of dangers like leaving electrical appliances on and they catch fire.

I really enjoyed being in electronics! It has been a great experience learning about batteries,wires and all types of things operated by electricty.

Tamaki Science Roadshow

Last week we went to Tamaki College for a science road show. I felt excited on what type of experiments they were going to show us. It seemed strange because I haven’t been to a science road show before.

We arrived at Tamaki College and entered the auditorium. I gazed across the room and saw loads of exhibits. Experiments waiting for us to have a fiddle with them. There were two presenters demonstrating to us what types of experiments they have. After all that was done we got to look around and try out some of the exhibits.

My favourite exhibit was about different smells because it smelt nice. The presenters were talking about temperature and the things needed for fire to burn.

Cell phones

One of the many useful technology gadgets that most people have are cellphones. There a many types of cellphone brands, for example there’s Nokia, Motorola, Hitachi, Sony Erickson, LG, Panasonic, Sharp, Toshiba and a whole lot more.

Phones have changed over the years since 1970. It has changed enormously through out the last fifteen years and is bigger, better, faster and stronger! It has made a huge change in our lives.

Because this technology has been used to keep in touch/contact with family, it is very valuable to some people. Phones can also be very dangerous because people are so addicted to it and drive while using them.

The kind of people that have cellphones are teenagers, business workers and adults. I had a cellphone, it was a Nokia phone. I mostly liked to use it to listen to songs and to talk with my mates!!! The cost of phones have increased largely over the years because of the new technology that they have.

Cellphones can be really incredible inventions, but can be dangerous sometimes. For example talking on the phone while driving, can cause severe damage because it distracts drivers from keeping their eyes on the road. Overall I think it has changed our country and world.

Camp TC

I woke up very early, double checking my bags making sure I had everything I needed. It was day one of our yearly 3 day camp. I made breakfast, did my hair and raced out the door way. I got to school and I could see that everyone was just as excited about camp as I was. Before we could get into action, Mr Burt gathered us all in the hall and blessed the day.

There were 6 groups called the Motivatorz, Participatorz, Respectablez, Carerz, Responsiblez and the Thinkerz. My group was called the Responsiblez.

My first group activity was to practice our item. We had to do an MTV, performance and stand out performance with four to three people for concert night. Our first task was to make an MTV video (we had to film it). Next was our group item. That was a bit hard for our group because we had no ideas, but then the girls came up with an idea.

One of my highlights for Camp TC was Rock Up. On Tuesday morning we were split up into 15 groups. The reason why we were split up was because we needed to learn how to work together. The name of my group was Eastside Soliders and there 8 people in my group. We were each given a timetable and our first activity was Alligator Alley. There were three tires and two walking planks. The aim of the game was to try to get over to the other side without talking and falling off, also the plank was not allowed to touch the ground. Now that was challenging. Even though my group wasn’t cooperating we still tried our best and won.

My other highlights was dinner at camp. The hangi was definately a highlight. Some of the other things I really enjoyed was the camp concert, Swimarama and hanging out with my friends.

How to put up a 3 man tent
Materials,
pegs,

hammer/mallet,

Tent

When the tent is put up(pitched)you will be ready to put your gear in. Then people can use it to sleep in.

Step1: Make sure you have everything you need,you should have a list of the equipment to build your tent.
Step2: Begin to unpack all the equipment (separate them)
Step3:lay out the tent base then begin to peg the sides.
Step4:Connect all the poles together then clip them through the holes.
Step5: Once the clipping is finished tie the string that is on top of your tent to the poles.
Step6: Place your cover on top of the tent then peg that down using a hammer.
Step7:Last but not least zip the tent up to keep out mosquito .

Softball "East champions"!!!!

We had an softball tournament down at tamaki intermediate. I was very nervous on what teams we were going to vs because it was my first time at a softball tournament.

Our first games was about to start my stomach felt like butterfly's were in them, but i knew i could do this. The school first up was st Thomas we were looking at the size of them and they were small kids sadly we one that game i thought we were bully's.

We won all our games except one, but we made it to the Grand final . The team that we were playing against was Churchchill Park it was a hardcore game I was in the batters box looking at how their team was pitching my friend Nathaniel did a mega hit but sadly got caught out now it was my turn to swing that bat. I put both my arms up high and watch the ball carefully. The ball had been pitched I took a look at it and I was’nt meant to hit it but I did. Strike one I took another swing BOOM!! that went high but i got out.

Anyway we won that game and now we a of to the champions of champions next week.

Hold on tight Christchurch

Yesterday was a very sad day for those in Christchurch because of the earthquake that struck the city. I feel very sorry for those kids that are not in school as we speak. What our school is trying to do is raise a lot of money for those who are in need in the earthquake.

I just wonder what if that happened to us? So that’s why we should be prepared for what ever comes to us. our school went into the hall and had a moment of silence Mr Burt (principle) Told to think about some ides to help Christchurch to help them. One of the ideas we came up with was trying to do is make care packs fulled with lots of stuff that kids would like to have.

Tech at tamaki

we have just started tech at tamaki collage, it was a great experience last year but this year we have two more subjects than last year, the subjects a wood tech,graphics,food tech,And the two new ones a science,electronics.

This year i was put into graphics and our teacher is ms ferguson. Our first lesson of the day was to learn about primary colours, witch i already knew what it meant. The subject i really want to be in is cooking because its nice to eat our food that we cook.

whats cool is that we are going every week.

I can tell this year is going to be an awesome year because all the builders have nearly finished our intermediate. Also because we are year eight this year so we have a big role in our school .

One of the things I am really looking forward to this year is camp because we a going to do different things. I can tell it is going to be exiting!!!!. We a also going to have great sports teams.
I am going to try and set me goals for this year and one of them is to improve my writing. I can do that by posting on my blog most of the time.Tech is also a thing I’m looking forward to because of cooking. I love eating what ever we cook!!

I want this year to be better than last year Hopefully!!

Market Day

“No!!!” I yelled I was so frustrated because it was time for a market day.
My group was making gift boxes with lollies, my group(Tyler, Tuipulotu and I) had finished our stall just in a nick of time.

I think our product was good because of the art that Tuipulotu done around it. I had to enter the finishing touches on our gift boxes.

It was time for ever class to come past and see our product I was really nervous because I thought no one was going to buy our product. At the end of the day we sold all of our product making $18.00.

It was brillant to be able to challenge myself on marketing.

Our school athletics

As we walked down to the bottom field my nerves were building with the tension because a new sport called javelin had begun. We were told you had to be accurate when throwing the javelin. I was a bit nervous because I saw a little boy chuck the javelin and it hit his head!

It was just about time for me to have a go at javelin I was so excited on what my placing was going to be. At the end of that I found out that I was fifth, but the top five still have a chance of coming first. It was my chance to have another turn........... AAAHHH!!!! I screamed as my arm quickly sprang the javelin through the air.............

As I was spectating the sprints I saw people running down like a pack of wild animals,thump!!!!! Every step they were taking. 1st place Charm 2nd place Tamati 3rd place Tanielu those were the people that took out the sprints.

After that it was all finished well done to all point England students who got and award.

Jesse Martin

Last term we had been learning about mighty mariners this is one of the pieces of writing that I did.

When Jesse Martin set sail around the world solo from Melbourne,Australia. Why he so special? because he was the youngest person to sail solo around the world unassisted. He had started his journey on the 8Th December 1998.

He came from a family of one brother and a solo mum who said the family house to pay for the lion heart yacht.

He set sail on his bout ,lion heart . He typed to make it back before his 19th birth day and filmed his journey around the globe. He saw some hump back whales and loved playing guitar.

He was remarkable person and was determined to get it done. He made it because he believed he could do it.

If you are an rugby league fan you should know who my best team is yip you guessed it manly,why? because I think there a good team because they have the best winger t-Rex (aka tony Williams). He is a very big man with awesome speed. I’m angry that they did’nt make it in to the finals but better luck next year.

Our rippa rugby tournement

On Saturday 11Th of September, some of our year sevens went to Eden park to play rippa rugby against welsey intermediate. There were about twenty schools at the tournament, each school was representing there country as you see on the picture we were England and welsey intermediate were Italy.

It was nearly time to play, kick of was at 4:30 pm. I was really nervous about the game I could tell other some of my team mates were to. The game had started I had got the started running towards the other team bang I fell on the ground instantly (that was sore). At the end of the game it was 2-2 it was a very close game even though we vs year 8s.

After that we were aloud to watch auckland vs wellington there were alot of Auckland fans so I went for wellington. One of the best players were missing his name was Hoser gear he is an awesome player that's what I think. I had got me some face paint and bollon to look like I'm a real supporter. But sadly at the end of the the score was 21-15 to Auckland.

Well I thought that It was a good day of rugby so we headed back to school at 9:00 pm on our bus.

Watching Karate kid

I awoke from my dream excited, during the school holidays I went to watch the movie karate kid. so we drove in our van as I wounded what karate kid was about. I heard this movie was remade from the old Karate kid.

We had arrived at hoyts cinemas, Intill we found out we were 30 minutes early. I guess that gave us time to play on the gaming machines. we bought all our snacks and payed our tickits, in we went. Watching the movie and the amount of sound projected into our ears.

I like the actors on karate kid because their face really stood out to who they are. The main actors I like were Jaden Smith, Jackie Chan, Zhenwei Wang,Wenwen han. It was nearly the end of the movie but I wanted to watch Jaden smith vs Zhenwei wang it was a very close fight but Jaden smith had to win. The Movie was fineshed and we exitout of the cinema thinking out lound what a wounderful day I have had.

It will be great if you get the chance to watch this movie.

My travelling character

As you can see I have done a travelling character her name is Marco. She has one special backpack that helps her on her journey. It's name is Polo. Last term at Tech we had to make a little toy for somebody in our family.
I have made a boat, but it's only made out of wood. My most challenging thing when I was building my boat was making all the curves. It feels great to be able to build a toy just out of wood. This doesn't look as easy as it is but getting to the point when your finished- that's awesome.

I would like to thank my tech teacher Mr Grundy for teaching me how to make a wooden boat and alsoTamaki College for letting us have teach at their school.

My Best camp highlight, Rock up

"Yay" I said to myself,we had a new activity. I was looking forward to see what we were going to do. So we walked down filled with excitement wondering what we might be doing. Until I saw three activitys waiting to be used by us. NOW! the three activity's were called the dunker & dunkee ,Log joust,and archery. The people who came were called Rock up!. Now here was the moment I was always looking for time to do dunking. Now how to play this game is one person sits on the seat provided in the dunkee and the dunkers a the people who throw the ball at the target. Once you have got the other team out three times you change over.

This game is really awesome once you get to play it .

Hope you try it out some time.

Assembly

“Yay”! I said to myself because it was the first assembly for 2010. I was looking forward to hearing Mr Jacobson's funny jokes.

I felt sad that Mr Palmer was gone cause he liked to laugh a lot. When he goes red that was when I started to laugh. When I sang the National Anthem it felt like I haven't sang it in a long time.

At last Mr Jacobson came to sing I was waiting for the moment for his joke. But he didn’t say a joke. I felt like saying boo!.

I felt surprised when we got our bin it award because I see rubbish most of the time. Assembly was finish I was acting as if we were not having assembly till next year.

Today me and my lovely Extension group learnt how to use "Worldle". It's so cool because it shows you what words you use most often because it would turn out big and the words you use less they are small. You can choose what ever colour that you want and what kind of font you

Me and my very intelligent class had a video conference with a very special New Zealand geologist - Hamish Campbell. He talked to us about the earthquake that made new Zealand move 30 centimeters closer to Australia. We talked to him about how earthquakes occurs.

What I had found out was that this was the biggest earthquake that had happened in about 80 years wow you imagine that. Also there was an earthquake in china Tangshan that lasted 15 seconds and it killed 242,00 and many others were injured It happened in 1976. Now on this photo we tyred to make a seismometer it measures how violent a earthquake is. Seismometers are really used were geologist know were the earthquake might hit.It would be hard for a earthquake to hit Auckland.

My Awesome dance

On Saturday me and my Sunday school had an event called Tamaki's got talent other event was a ball.It was at a Church's hall the church name is the P.I.P.C. and it is for Pacific people. Why we did it was because it was the church's 19th anniversary it was so awesome. It had started at 6.00 clock and finished

at 10.00 clock .I really loved dancing with my Sunday school because I herd lots of people cheering and I just was amazed. My highlight was being able to perform to loads of people. The ball was so cool because we all made a very long line and walked around the hall I felt so sorry for most of the old people because they were getting bumped in to.As you see on one of the photos we have a prize and you will never guest what had happened we had won first prize I loved the prize because we each chose something out of the basket.It was not fair when the ball prize got presented because we did not get to have a prize if you were 10 to 12. After everything had finished we had A nice big feed that made me really full. Then we all tided up and all went home.

Term 2

At the start of a term we always have a new topic our new topic this term is based on dinosaurs our topic is not really called dinosaur it is called Dino-might I thought that the name of the topic was really weird.We also have a act from each of the teams team one is 5 year old kids up to 6 team two is 7 years old to 8 years old team three is 9 up to 10 team four is 10 up to 11.I really liked team2 because they had a hip hop dance about dinosaurs it made me just want to get up and dance. Our principle was dressed up as a cave man and he was so funny because he got people from the crowd and just two and put them down on the in the front of the floor so every body could see them they were not adults they were year six children. My hight light was watching all the teachers perform to us because some of their act were so funny. Our year six item was about our teachers going in the future when dinosaurs were alive it was a movie that showed a clear picture what the dinosaurs looked like in the time they were alive.

My Holidays

In 2008 after school I was so happy and I could not wait until it was 12 o'clock. I ran all the way home and I played outside. I didn't even change.

On Boxing day I went to the movies to watch Bolt and Bedtime Stories. When I got my tickets to watch the movie I got my mum, dad and brothers and my sister. We got three big cups of coke too. I had to go and play some games because the movie didn't start until 11.30 and it was only 11.00 o'clock. I played lots of games. It was so much fun.

Then we watched a movie. It was In 3D. The movie was called Bolt. It was about a dog who was an actor. He had powers but not real powers. He thought that he had real powers but he had no powers.

Next we watched Bedtime Stories. We had no coke just half of a box of popcorn. This movie was better than Bolt.

Google Earth
